Tripura: Minor girl gang-raped by CPI (M) cadres
AGARTALA: An FIR was lodged on Thursday against two youths including two CPI (M) cadres for gang-raping a minor girl at Duluma ADC village in Gomati District. The rape accused are identified as Pilak Debbarma and Lakshman Debbarma who are sons of active CPI (M) leaders.
The victim, a 15-year-old girl is currently admitted at Udaipur District Hospital in Gomati District. The incident occurred last night when both Pilak and Lakshman accompanied by a few youths forced her out of her house and took her to a nearby forest where they reportedly gang-raped her. Today, her unconscious body was found in a pool of blood on the main road.
She was first rushed to a Primary Health Centre (PHC) where the doctors referred her to the District Hospital due to her critical condition. The victim's family alleged that the parents of the accused came to them today and tried to offer them a large amount of money to withdraw the case. When they refused to accept, they threatened them with dire consequences.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Biplab Deb also visited the victim at the hospital and extended financial assistance to her. He has also asked the Superintendent of Police to intervene in the case.
