Call it a Durga Puja bonanza or mere speculations; The Tripura Government is most likely going to announce implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission for around two lakh government employees and pensioners before the religious festival, this year.
According to official reports, it was informed that the employees and pensioners will, however, start receiving revised pay and pension from January next year after fulfilling all official procedures – submission of final recommendations of the Verma Committee, scrutiny of the recommendations and preparation of pay and pension rolls.
Earlier today, PP Verma, who is heading the pay review committee met Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and held a discussion on the draft recommendations. Later, he held a separate meeting with senior Finance department officials on the issue.
Although, there is no official reply from the government's end on the outcome of the Verma's meeting with the Chief Minister, sources claimed that the government might declare implementation of 7th CPC before Duga Puja.
