Tripura | Demonetized currency & 400 liters of illicit liquor seized in state

AGARTALA | September 5, 2018:

During a raid by the state police, a total currency notes of Rs. 75,000 including demonetized currency and a cache of country-made liquor were seized on late on Monday night.

A team of state police acting on a tip conducted a raid and recovered 400 liters of local liquor, demonetized currency notes with a face value of around Rs 20,000 from Bhattapukur Kalitila.

Arundhatinagar outpost officer-in-charge,  Alamgir Hussein said that they raided the residence of one Arjun Debnath (26) on Tuesday night and had recovered almost 300 liters of local liquor, some cash and also seized demonetized notes.

Hussein said that three people, including Arjun Debnath(26), Darin Kaipeng(23) and Jaharlal Kaipeng (25) have been arrested. The others are from Taidu village in Gomati district.
