Tripura: CM stresses on early completion of Indo-Bangla border fencing
AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar asked IG of Border Security Force to hold a discussion with Chief Secretary and submit a detailed report aiming to complete the border fencing work in the Indo-Bangla bordering areas by the next seven days.
Sarkar said this during a review meeting on security issue held at Civil Secretariat. The meeting was attended by police, BSF and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel.
Sarkar also asked the BSF personnel to detect if there is gap between any BOP in the bordering areas and minimize the gap at the earliest. He also directed the BSF to keep a tight vigil in the bordering areas to avoid any untoward incident.
Referring to militancy issue, the Chief Minister asked the police personnel to keep a watch to foil plan of the insurgents to lure the youths to join their group and also advised the police to introduce 'Prayas' in the bordering areas as well. He also urged the police to take initiatives to give a space to the militants so that they could return back to civilized society.
"Though the militancy rate is almost nil in the state, still the police should ensure tight security across the state," Sarkar said.
