With Sikkim’s south district lacking health infrastructure, including ENT operating facilities, a team of ENT surgeons comprising Dr Tshering Sherpa, Dr Mohan and Dr Ruben have resumed services at Namchi District Hospital.

“It gives me pleasure to inform you that a team of ENT surgeons comprising Dr Tshering Sherpa, Dr Mohan and Dr Ruben, have started operations on various cases at Namchi District Hospital,” said Chief Minister PS Golay.

The people from South and West Sikkim will now have easy access to such facilities in their district hospitals, which will save their time and money spent on travelling.

The State Health Department recently came up with the first Tertiary Cancer Care centre at Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial (STNM) Hospital and introduced dialysis centres in Geyzing and Namchi hospital, including STNM.

Sikkim’s health infrastructure recently made headlines for lack of facilities and alleged carelessness.
