Sikkim set to host Global Film Festival 2021

GANGTOK

The first stakeholders meet for the Sikkim Global Film Festival 2021 was conducted at Manan Kendra on January 5.

Chairperson, Sikkim Film Board, Pooja Sharma chaired the meeting. During the meeting, various issues were discussed regarding organising the festival.

Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Jacob Khaling attended the meeting, along with a host of other officials.

Amongst the attendees were prominent figures senior Filmmaker Ugyen Chopel, Prashant Rasaily, Chief Coordinator, Contractor Association Lakpa Moktan, representative from Sikkim Film Corporative Society, Line Producer Raj Sitaula and other noted filmmakers of the State gave their valuable inputs for conducting the Sikkim Global Film Festival 2021.

The need for such festival which showcases Sikkim at a global pedestal was echoed by all the participants and it was agreed that such type of festivals would go a long way in empowering the youths and in shaping a much better image for the state at both national and international platforms.
