Sikkim secures third position in Kala Utsav competition

GANGTOK:

Grace Sundas, a student of Tadong Senior Secondary School, East Sikkim, secured the third position in the newly introduced concept of indigenous toys and games at the national level competition for Kala Utsav.

The competition was held virtually from January 10 and concluded on January 23.

Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote art in Education, by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students in the country.

Although Kala Utsav was conducted virtually at the national level, it was conducted normally at the district level.

This year, Kala Utsav was held in nine different art forms which included traditional and vocal music, dance for both folk and classical, instrumental folk and classical music, 2D, 3D painting and indigenous toys and games.
