Sikkim: NCW felicitates COVID-19 women warriors

GANGTOK:

Two women from Sikkim were accorded the COVID-19 women warrior award during the 29th Foundation Day of the National Commission for Women on January 31.

Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javedkar distributed the awards during the programme at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

The frontline workers, namely police officer Karma Doma Bhutia and Aganwadi worker Rupa Tiwari received the award for their exemplary work during the COVID pandemic.

The chairperson of the Sikkim State Commission for Women, Chungkipu Lepcha, also attended the programme.
