Sikkim govt making headway to comprehensive development in educational sector: CM

Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang Golay, inaugurated the newly constructed school building today at Pema Rinzing Lama Senior Secondary School at Yangsum, West Sikkim.

Golay reiterated that the State government has made headway in ensuring comprehensive development in the educational sector.

Smart Android TVs have been provided to the students studying in classes VIII, IX, X and XI in state government-run schools to access audio and video contents prepared by multiple sources, including the Education Department.

The state government has also decided to set up a “Centre of Excellence” at Chakung, West Sikkim, which will be equipped with world-class facilities and shall have lectures from eminent and experienced faculty members.

The programme was also addressed by the Minister for Education Kunga Nima Lepcha, where he highlighted the Government would soon construct rock climbing institutions at Legship football ground and urged the youth to take up all the benefits.
