Sikkim bans poultry from other states in light of Avian Influenza

GANGTOK

The Government of Sikkim has banned the import of poultry and poultry products from other states for one month with immediate effect, stated a government notification.

The state government took the decision in the wake of bird flu outbreak across the country.

Various states across the Northeast are on high alert over the outbreak and its potential spillover effect to humans.
