Sikkim: 2020 State Level Kala Utsav ends on colourful note in Gangtok

GANGTOK: The two-day long online State Level Kala Utsav Competition 2020 concluded at NIC, Gangtok on December 10.

Following the COVID-19 protocols, this year’s competition was held through an online mode, the Education Department organised the programme under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha.

The event witnessed the Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department, G. P. Upadhayaya, State Project Director (Samagra Shiksha), Bhim Thatal among others.

33 participants took part in the State Level Competition, which was virtually screened by eminent artists and officials. It comprised myriad colourful displays of visual arts in 2-D and 3-D, vocal music, instrumental music and indigenous toy making.

Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of students in the country. The focus of Kala Utsav 2020 was on one style of traditional and folk art form.
