National Consumer Rights Day marked in Sikkim; TNT-The Northeast Today Journo among award winners

GANGTOK

The Federation of Consumer Association of Sikkim(FCAS) celebrated the National Consumer Rights Day on December 24 in Gangtok.

Chief Coordinator (FCAS), Suresh K Lama stressed on the need for more awareness on consumer rights in Sikkim. Awareness pamphlets and books were distributed to the public on the occasion.

Rohit Pradhan, General Secretary, FCAS, congratulated the winners of ‘Concerned Consumer Awards’ which was jointly shared by Nitesh Pradhan, Journalist, TNT- The Northeast Today and teachers Anisha Lama and Preyanka Tamang for their role in spreading awareness on consumer rights in Sikkim.

The organisation also felicitated social activist Gaurav Raj Gupta and model Sang Doma Tamang for their recent achievements in their respective fields.

One of the winner Anisha Lama, Teacher, Tashi Namgyal Academy said, “It is important for the general masses to understand consumer awareness and further spreading the message through action oriented programs in schools and colleges.”

Likewise, Preyanka Tamang stressed on the need for introducing awareness on such topics at the grassroot level.
