High Court of Sikkim gets a new Chief Justice

GANGTOK:

Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari was sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court in an official function at Ashirwad Hall, Raj Bhavan, on Wednesday.

Maheshwari took oath in the presence of Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad and other dignitaries.

The event witnessed the attendance of several political leaders, bureaucrats, former judges, BAR members, and other senior officials including Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.

Born on June 29, 1961, Justice Maheshwari hails from Joura - a small town in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.

Maheshwari had earlier served as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Judge at the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
