Assam: The first tripartite talk with the NDA led government in the centre regarding a separate Bodoland was held on Tuesday in New Delhi.
An eight member team comprises of the representatives of All Bodo Students Union, Bodoland People's Progressive Front, People's Joint Action Committee attended the crucial talk with the central home ministry regarding a separate Bodo state curved out of Assam.
The meeting was held in Hotel Janpath in New Delhi. Along with the eight representatives; Joint Secretary Northeast (Home) Mr. Sambhu Singh, Mr. Mukti Gogoi (Secretary, Home, state) and Pallav Bhattacharjee (IGP, Assam Police) joined the talk as the representatives from the state government.
After the meeting, Promod Bodo, President of ABSU has expressed that the meeting ended with a positive note.
"The talk was fruitful. I want the next talk to be held between the home department and the centre."
This is the fifth tripartite talk with the centre. The organizations seeking a separate Bodoland had held four tripartite talks with the UPA-2.
