These rains have been attributed to the cyclonic circulation persisting over Assam and adjoining Bangladesh region. This weather system is likely to intensify further. Therefore, during the next 24 hours, we expect widespread light to moderate over Arunachal Pradesh and parts of East Assam.

Rain and thundershowers with strong winds will occur over Anjaw, Changlang, Dibang Valley, East Kameng, East Siang, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey, Lohit, Longding, Lower Dibang Valley, Lower Siang, Lower Subansiri, Papum Pare, Siang, Tirap, Upper Siang, Upper Subansiri, West Kameng, West Siang, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Sibsagar and Tinsukia districts of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam during from 13:00 hrs to 21:00 hours today.

In fact, conditions are favourable for these weather activities to continue for another 72 hours. Few parts of Nagaland, Meghalaya and West Assam may also receive rain and thundershower activities.
