In what may be termed as a matter of concern for the 8 states of the Northeast Indian region, no police station from any Northeast Indian state has featured in the list of Top 10 police stations in the country recently released by the Union Home Ministry.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh awarded the police officers of the three best-performing police stations in the country in a programme which was held in Gujarat on December 20.

The Kalu Police Station (Rajasthan) grabbed the top spot on the list and was followed by Campbell Bay (Andaman & Nicobar Islands), Farakka (West Bengal), Nettapakkam (Puducherry), Guderi (Karnataka), Chopal (Himachal Pradesh), Lakheri (Rajasthan), Periyakulam (Tamil Nadu), Munsyari (Uttarakhand) and Churchorem (Goa).

The list was prepared by Intelligence Bureau (IB) along with state agencies to ascertain the best police stations in the country.
