Nagaland’s Dzukou valley fire completely doused: DFO

Kohima Divisional Forest Officer Rajkumar M, on Monday, stated that they finally doused the fire in Nagaland’s Dzukou Valley after two weeks.

“No fresh fire or smoke was visible from the base camp or during an aerial survey conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters,” Rajkumar said.

They also decided to de-induct the Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters but ground personnel at the base camp would continue to keep a close watch on the situation.

The fire in Dzukou range in Kohima district erupted on December 29, 2020.

However, the cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.
