Nagaland NGOs call for bandh on March 23 against Lamhainamdi killing

The Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of Peren district has called for a bandh on March 23 in protest against the killing of three people at Lamhainamdi village in Nagaland on Monday.

According to sources, three persons were shot dead by unknown miscreants while they were working in their plots on March 22 around 5 pm.

Their vehicles, along with some houses in the village, were also burnt.

All business establishments, schools and offices under the Peren district will remain closed during the bandh, Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation (NZPO) President Kevipelie informed.

The public will gather at Jalukie before proceeding to Lamhainamdi village to attend the funeral of the deceased on Tuesday.

The matter is under investigation and search for the miscreant is on, police sources informed.
