Nagaland: Man undertakes expedition peace walk to spread the message of unity

KOHIMA:

A man from the Tankhul tribe of Manipur Nagas has undertaken an expedition peace mission walk by carrying an Indian National flag on his shoulders along with a Naga flag on his back to spread the message of peace, reconciliation and unity.

While talking to reporters, Y. S. Mashungmi said he belongs to the Tankhul Naga tribe from Teinem village in Manipur's Ukhrul district and grew up in Dimapur, Nagaland.

Mashungmi said that he was perplexed by the present political, social and cultural situation of the Nagas and thus, decided to do something about it.

"I decided to walk across Nagaland to spread the message of peace, reconciliation and unity among the Naga brothers," he said.

"Both flags resemble my pride and identity. I started this mission walk from City Tower Dimapur on December 8 and reached Kohima on December 9."

"My mission is to cover all over Nagaland by walking. My next destination is to reach Zunheboto", he added.
