KOHIMA: The Interlocutory Application (IA) seeking the intervention of the Guahati High Court for restraining the seven suspended rebel NPF MLAs from entering the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Session during the forthcoming Assembly session will be fixed on or before February 12.
This was informed by Advocate Siddharth Borgohain representing the opposition party, Naga People's Front (NPF).
During the second hearing of the IA filed by the NPF for restraining the 7 rebel MLAs from attending the forthcoming Assembly session scheduled from Feb 12 to 20 on Monday, the respondents raised a "pertinent" question on maintainable of the writ petition.
"The matter was brought before the court today and the hearing has commenced on both the IA filed by them and the respondents," Borgohain said.
In order to maintain fairness, the NPF party have also asked for the maintainable of the writ petition to be heard, the party advocate said.
"If the writ petition does not survive, we come up strong; so automatically restraining of those will be heard", Borgohain added.
Borgohain was hopeful that the matter will have a logical conclusion and that it will be heard and disposed off on or before Feb 12.
