Nagaland: Dimapur Civil Societies Co-ordination Committee highlights ‘crucial role’ of church during COVID-19

The Ao Baptist Churches and Civil Societies Co-ordination Committee of Dimapur in a press release highlighted the efforts taken by the management of the church during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Committee informed that they were privileged to successfully manage three Quarantine Centres at the Dimapur Government College from 1 June to 21 June 2020 for all the returnees during the lockdown period.

The Committee further stated, “This magnanimous effort was accomplished with no glitches through the constant prayers and support from all walks of life and for which we are deeply indebted as we continue to extend our humble acknowledgement and gratitude.”

Multi Public Utility Center

According to the press release, “The returnees donated an amount of ₹ 43,361/- along with prayers and beautiful letters of love during the crises.”

Acknowledging the efforts made by everyone during the pandemic, the committee has built and donated a Multi Public Utility Center at the District Hospital, Dimapur.

The Multi Public Utility Centre has provisions for 4 toilets, 2 bathrooms, UV purified drinking water point, hand washing & face washing booths, mobile phone charging points and spacious resting sheds under the same roof.

“COVID-19 pandemic will be here with us for some time and as a small effort towards the attempt to control the pandemic through practice of proper hygiene, it is our humble prayer that this facility would be beneficial to everyone as we continue to praise His name and Glory,” the press release added.
