Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy would be accorded a state funeral today (Friday) at noon, officials informed.
Toy passed away on January 28 in Kohima. He was 57 and is survived by his wife, two sons and 2 daughters.
As a sign of respect, the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisations have issued an order that all Eastern Area jurisdictions (5 districts) will remain closed till 12 pm.
Schools, Government offices, institutions and business establishments will remain closed.
The Ao area region will also remain closed.
Temjen Toy was diagnosed with lung cancer last year and underwent treatment in New York. He recently returned to Nagaland.
Temjen Toy’s condition deteriorated on Wednesday and passed away in Kohima on Thursday.
