Nagaland Assembly session: Details of Govt schools' performance in HSLC exams

Advisor to the government of Nagaland incharge of School Education, KT Sukhalu on Thursday provided the details of the performance of the Government Schools in Higher School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations.

Replying to a query raised by NPF's Dr Chumben Murry during the ongoing session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sukhalu informed that the overall pass percentage of government schools in the State was 28 per cent in 2016, 31 per cent in 2017, 30 per cent in 2018, 36 per cent in 2019 and 42 per cent in 2020.

He further informed about the various initiatives of the Department which include Remedial Teaching Program for the students of Government School for Science and Mathematics subject for class 9 & 10, introducing “The Teacher’s Diary”, taking up monitoring and inspection and orientation programs for the heads of the institutions and subject teachers.

The Department has also introduced various innovative programs such as Tele/Radio Online Education, Online School Monitoring System, Online Teachers Transfer Portal, Teacher’s APP, Free India 4.0 Education, DHIKSHA Coherent Access Project and Gurushala Teacher Training Programme, he added.
