2021 hopeful to be a fruitful year for the Nagas, says Nagaland CM

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, on January 28, said that he hoped 2021 would be a very important year for the Nagas and that he looked forward to a solution to the Naga issue.

“For 2021 we hope that this will be a very important year for the Nagas, and I am also very hopeful that Naga issue can be resolved,” Rio told reporters after the inauguration of Sechü Zubza Village Council Hall at Zubza.

Rio stated that the people of Nagaland have been yearning for peace and expressed hope and positivity with the onset of a new year.

“The ruling government and the opposition party are sailing on the same boat as far as the Naga issue is concerned. Ample time will be given to discuss the issue in the upcoming 7th Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly,” he said.

“I am happy that Leader of Opposition TR. Zeliang and I could give a joint statement. The statement reveals that our minds are the same as far as the Naga issue is concerned. This upcoming Assembly Session we are going to give sufficient time to discuss, and we will pass a resolution to support for an early solution,” he added.
