"In Karnataka, the BJP without even having the magic figure is being allowed to form the Government in the name of 'single largest party' whereas in Nagaland, NPF Party led by TR Zeliang was not allowed to do the same despite being the single largest political party. Why wasn't the NPF sworn in and given 15 days time to prove majority in the floor of the House?"- Questions like these and more are being raised by TR Zeliang led NPF after the controversial turn of political events taking place in Karnataka.

The Information & Publicity Wing, Office of the Leader of Opposition Nagaland in a statement said, "With 26 members, NPF was the single largest party in Nagaland but it was not accorded the same privilege which the BJP Party led by BS Yeddyurappa is being given in Karnataka on account of being the single largest Party. Why should different laws be applied in different states on the same matter?"

The leader of the opposition party TR Zeliang was also seen posting about this on his official facebook account:

The communique further went on to state that the Governor, PB Acharya must invite Zeliang and his Party to form the Govt in Nagaland at the earliest based on the merit of the case and that the same yardstick must be applied in Nagaland as in the case of Karnataka.

Zeliang also added that he would be heading to Tuensang today to hold public meetings in support of C Apok Jamir for the Bye-polls to the Lok Sabha. Right after his return to Kohima, the NPF legislators along with the organisational wing of the NPF will hold a consultative meeting.
