Nagaland NGO moves court for CBI probe

KOHIMA: The Gauhati High Court received a PIL on the rampant corruption in many departments in Nagaland on Monday.

The Kohima bench of the court has received a PIL from Against Corruption And Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland.

In a statement in Kohima, the non-governmental organization said they have field the PIL against the Nagaland public Service Commission along with the departments of rural development, road and bridges, state council of educational research & training, social welfare, higher education, health & family welfare.

The Nagaland government has been failing to deal with corruption even after despite a series of exposes.

The PIL has made 7 departments respondents requesting to court direct the Chief Secretary to furnish information on corruption in public establishments.

The PIL has also requested the court to ensure a CBI probe into the serious allegations of corruption where a section of officers, officials, politicians were involved.
