Nagaland: Mary Sangtam enters ‘Mr & Miss Fashion Icon Chennai 2017’ finals
March 21, 2017: 23 year Naga girl, Mary Sangtam has entered the finals of "Mr & Miss Fashion Icon Chennai" 2017 which is scheduled to be held on March 26 at Deccan Plaza Hotel Royapettah, Chennai.
Mary Sangtam who hails from New Mangakhi village under Tuensang district in an interview with Nagaland Post correspondent, said that she had done three Tamil Movies including Paisa, Pasamudan and Amaran, in Kollywood where she had played the lead female role and have two more upcoming movies.
She did her class 12 from Millar Mission Higher Secondary School Dimapur, she went to Chennai for Hotel Management where she met a Kollywood director and later joined Kollywood film Industry.
Upcoming actress Mary said that apart from acting, she was a designer and does modeling in Chennai.
When asked about the language barrier while acting in Tamil Movies, she said that she had difficulty in the initial stage but confident that she now could speak Tamil very well after thorough practices.
She is also likely to contest in Miss & Mr. Grand Sea Asia 2017, Sophia/Bulgaria scheduled to be held on June 19 – 25.
When asked about the criteria of the selection in the finals, Mary said that they are 20 finalists, 10 male and 10 female. There would be four type of selection point such as count in Facebook likes, Ramp walk, questionnaire round and questions from the judges.
Mary Sangtam contestant number 13 have also appealed to the people of Nagaland to like her page by opening "Mr & Miss Fashion Icon of Chennai 2017" page in facebook. The Facebook page would be closed on March 25 at 12 pm.
