Nagaland Hindi teachers to go on strike from tomorrow over pending salaries
KOHIMA: The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers' Union (ANHTU) will begin phase-wise agitation from tomorrow, if the department fail to fulfill its demand to release pending salaries of Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for Hindi Teachers by today.
In a release by ANHTU convener, CSS Hindi teachers Ilika Aye and general secretary A S Yarthotngam said that the union had earlier issued an ultimatum to the director, directorate of school education to release the pending salaries of CSS Hindi teachers on or before February 10 and later extended the deadline of today.
The ANHTU has asked all the district representatives of CSS Hindi teachers to prepare for the agitation as per the decision of February 28 meeting. The agitation will be carried out phase wise from tomorrow all CSS Hindi teachers will perform duty in their respective school wearing black badge as a sign of grievance against non-payment of salaries.
On March 10, all CSS Hindi teachers will agitate at every office of district education officer (DEO), sub-divisional education officer (SDEO) in non-violent manner with black badge and on March 15, all CSS Hindi teachers will picket the directorate of school education in Kohima. Therefore, all 1,379 CSS Hindi teachers have been requested to reach Kohima on March 14 without fail, the release said.
