Nagaland Assembly session: COVID-19 related matters left undiscussed

The Naga People's Front(NPF) decided to boycott the 6th Session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly today.
The NPF Legislature Party Imkong L Imchen cited a letter mentioning that the house went on to conduct the one-day sixth session, despite two NPF MLAs requests for a three-day session during the Business Advisory Committee Meeting held on July 20.
Leader of Opposition, TR Zeliang also proposed for extension of the session but was not considered, he added.
Following this, the Leader of Opposition wrote a letter to the Governor for the extension of Business Session to three days to discuss matters related to Naga Political Issue, COVID-19, and SARFAESI ACT, 2002, in a detailed manner.
Imchen added that the Governor wrote a letter to the Chief Minister stating that the 6th Session of the 13th NLA should be held, in a manner that all issues get addressed.
However, the Governor's letter was also not considered, Imchen said.
He also added that the notice which was put up by the NPF Legislature Party leader two weeks before the Assembly Session for Adjournment Motion was also unattended.
Imchen said opposition MLAs raised 29 questions, out of which only 12 questions were accepted, during the 35 minute time allotted for the opposition Bench, due to which time was not sufficient to discuss COVID related matters.
