Moments that gave Northeast India reasons to be proud (April Edition)

After a series of incidents that put Northeast India to shame, TNT-The Northeast Today News brings to you instances that put Northeast India in a position to cheer up and be proud of:
#1. In the recently declared UPSC examination results, many aspirants from Northeast India shone bright. 22 candidates from Northeastern states including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur successfully cracked the walls of Indian Civil Services (Mains) Examinations.
#2. If you think that people of Northeast live on bizzare food and are unaware of the nutritious food then think again because Bananas of Assam and Pine-apple of Agartala are among the favourites, is also making way to the international market. Bananas of Assam are not only supplied to Nepal and states like West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh but are also being exported globally.
#3. Breaking record and Making a history, Pawan Kumar Chamling, Chief Minister of Sikkim surpassed the record set by the late Jyoti Basu, Chief Minister of West Bengal as the longest serving CM of India. Basu was Chief Minister for 23 years from June 1977 to November 2000 and taking over his record the 67-year-old Mr. Chamling set a new record.
#4. Northeastern states have enormous number of famous sports persons starting from Bhaichung Bhutia, Sunil thapa, Eugenson Lyngdoh not to forget Mary Kom, Kunjarani Devi, Oinam Bembem Devi and more are yet to come. Well, one more lady from Northeast, Sikkim's Kikam Bhutia become the first woman from the Northeast to be appointed a member of the coaching staff of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)-conducted training camp. She will look after the fielding and wicket-keeping for the under-19 (girls).
#5. A new record was set by Mizoram this month by registering 76.65 pass percentage in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, 2018, the highest since the first board examination was conducted by the Mizoram Board School Education (MBSE) in 1978.
