Mizoram receives first consignment of COVID-19 vaccines

Mizoram on Thursday received its first consignment of 18,500 COVID-19 vaccines, for the first phase of inoculation.
A total of 14,607 health workers have registered to receive the vaccination, while 8,000 have been selected for the first shots, State Immunisation Officer Lalzawmi said.
The state government has set up four camps including Aizawl Civil Hospital, Lunglei Civil Hospital, Kulikawn Sub-District Hospital and Urban Public Health Centre for the first phase of COVID-19 inoculation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the nationwide Covid vaccination drive on January 16 at 10 am.
