Mizoram police seize heroin worth Rs 42.80 lakh

AIZAWL:

A joint team of Assam Rifles and Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department arrested two persons and seized heroin worth Rs 42.80 lakh in Aizawl on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, personnel of Assam Rifles, officials of excise and narcotics department carried out a joint operation in Zemabawk and, recovered 107 grams of heroin, 72 cans of foreign-made beer and 5,000 packets of foreign cigarettes.

The accused and seized items have been handed over to the excise and narcotics department.
