Four-day-old baby kidnapped from Mizoram hospital, search operation on

Mizoram police on Sunday launched a massive search operation after a four-day-old baby was abducted from a civil hospital in Lunglei district.

The infant is the son of Dilon Chakma and Surota Chakma of Tiperaghat village.

According to sources, a woman dressed in the hospital’s uniform allegedly kidnapped the baby around 4.30 am on Sunday.

The woman reportedly told the attendant that she would take the baby to the Special Newborn Care Unit but never return.

"An investigation into the matter is on to find the infant and the police are also checking the CCTV footage," Lunglei district SP Stephen Lalrinawma said.
