Assam Rifles seize Rs 80 lakh unaccounted Indian currency notes in Mizoram

Troops of Assam Rifles arrested one person and recovered unaccounted Indian currency notes amounting to Rs 80 lakh near the India-Myanmar border at Champhai district in Mizoram.

Based on specific information, a team of Assam Rifles and the Young Mizo Association (YMA) representatives conducted an operation and arrested him.

“Assam Rifles over the years have been fighting against the smuggling menace in Mizoram. Extensive anti-seizure operations have been successful in thwarting the smuggling nexus along the Indo-Myanmar border,” Assam Rifles said.
