The Mizo National Front (MNF), which remained in the Opposition for 10 years, is now ready to take over power in this northeastern state as it continues to lead in 28 constituencies till the filing of this report.

Interestingly, the CM is also trailing behind in his home turf — Serchhip. MNF is leading, so far.

Earlier, polls prediction indicated that this year's results will mark the end of Thanhawla's reign in Mizoram and will catapult the MNF (a partner of the BJP in North Eastern Democratic Alliance-NEDA) to the halls of power.
