The 40- member State Assembly which is also the last remaining fortress of the Indian National Congress in the Northeast, goes to polls on November 28 and December 11 is set for the mandate.

The move of the Election Commission of India to increase the number of polling stations by 3 per cent can be seen as an attempt by the poll panel to facilitate the voters to exercise their franchise at large in the tryst with democracy.

As per the figures released by the ECI on October 6, the number of polling stations this time in Mizoram will be 1,164 as compared to 1,126 in 2013 Assembly polls.
