The NPP candidate and son of the Late PA Sangma Conrad Sangma believes he has an edge over Mukul Sangma's wife in the upcoming Tura Bypolls on the 16th of May.
The seat became vacant after the untimely demise of PA Sangma .
Conrad Sangma while speaking to a media house in an interview stated on being asked if he had an edge in the Tura election that 'I would be lying if i deny this.Yes i will have a definite edge because of my father had always received tremendous love ,respect and support from the people of Garo Hills' .He also added that he would have liked if he was elected unopposed as this would have been a perfect tribute to his father while also adding that he did understand why the Congress felt compelled to put up a candidate.
The Tura Seat has been a PA Sangma's bastion with the family never having lost an election from there .Conrad Sangma's sister Agatha Sangma also won the seat twice before only to vacate so that her late father could re-enter the parliament again in 2014.
