Residents of Kynshi Bangla village in West Khasi Hills, on Monday, discovered the decomposed body of a 34-year-old man who was earlier reported missing.

According to the village Sordar Aibanrikupar Syiemlieh, they found the body in the backyard of an abandoned house near NH-44 E.

They identified the body as that of 34-year-old Phlainingstar Syiemlieh, of Kynshi Bangla who had gone missing a week back.

The Sordar informed that there was a house nearby belonging to 33-year-old Dijestarfield L Nonglait, who witnesses said, was at the crime scene on Monday.

"When the villagers and police went to investigate the house, they found Nonglait hanging from the ceiling," he said.
