Tight security in place for Union Home Minister’s visit, says Meghalaya CM
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is likely to convene a meeting either of the MDA Coordination Committee or Cabinet ahead of the visit.
Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma stated that they are putting security arrangements in place for Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is expected to visit the state on January 23.
“Everything is under control. All arrangements required to be made for the visit of the Union Home Minister and of all the Chief Ministers have been made,” Sangma told reporters on Monday.
Shah, who is also the chairman of the North Eastern Council (NEC), will chair the plenary meeting of the NEC in Shillong.
Sangma is likely to convene a meeting either of the MDA Coordination Committee or Cabinet ahead of the visit.
Earlier, Sangma had informed that he would take up the ILP issue before the Union Home Minister during his visit to the state.
“So in case he (Amit Shah) comes here, we will meet here in Shillong itself, but in case there is a change in his programme then I will make a tour to Delhi most likely before the 23rd of this month,” Sangma said.
