NPP's Rajya Sabha MP Dr. W.R. Kharlukhi tests COVID-19 positive

Dr. W.R. Kharlukhi, member of Rajya Sabha and state president for National People’s Party (NPP) Meghalaya, was tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.

"Shri Kharlukhi has isolated himself and is taking care of his health. He has requested that anyone who has come into contact with him in the last five days should keep a watch on their health and if necessary, to get tested," an official release from the NPP said.

Kharlukhi, was elected as member of parliament (MP) Rajya Sabha from Meghalaya this year.

He is one of three parliamentarians of Meghalaya, the other ones being Agatha Sangma (NPP) and Vincent Pala (Congress) in Lok Sabha.
