Meghalaya: Union Home Minister Amit Shah to chair 69th Plenary Session of NEC in Shillong

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah will chair the 69th Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC), scheduled to be held in the city on January 23 and 24.

The meeting would be attended by the MoS (Independent Charge), Ministry of development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER) and Vice-Chairman, Dr Jitender Singh and members of the NEC comprising governors and chief ministers of the eight northeastern states.

Senior officials from northeastern states and Central Government ministries are also expected to be present.

There will be presentations from the Ministry of DoNER, NEC, the State Governments, and selected Central Ministries on various developmental initiatives and plans for the North-East Region during the two-day session.

The session will deliberate the progress of ongoing projects, including the confirmation of the proceedings of the 68th Plenary meeting outlays by Central Ministries in the northeast, and plans for March 2021 during the term of the Fifteenth Finance Commission.
