Meghalaya: Three people detained in construction workers' attack case

Three individuals have been detained in connection with the attack on eight labourers in South West Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya Police informed on Thursday.

Police informed that eight construction labourers working at St Xavier's Girls Hostel in Umdoid, South West Khasi Hills were attacked by unknown miscreants on the night of February 24.

"On receiving the information, police officials immediately proceeded to the place of occurrence to ascertain the facts and circumstances of the incident," Assistant Inspector General of Police DM Sangma informed.

"Out of the eight, one succumbed to his injuries, while the other co-workers sustained bodily injuries," he added.

Three persons have been detained in connection with the case and further investigation is on, Sangma informed.

A criminal case under various sections of IPC was registered under Mawkyrwat Police Station.
