Meghalaya Power Minister James Sangma on Thursday launched the Public Grievance Redressal Mechanism of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) in Shillong, East Khasi Hills district.
“This will go a long way in addressing the grievances of the consumers in a timely manner & will also make our services more accessible & user-friendly,” Sangma said.
Speaking to TNT-The Northeast Today, MeECL Chairman and Managing Director, Arun Kembhavi said the main aim of this initiative was to bring the MeECL closer to the doorsteps of the people.
To address the grievance, one can call 60330 60330.
“Anybody having difficulties or grievances with the functioning of the MeECL whether, in terms of billing, operation maintenance issue or power failure, interruption or low voltage can relate through this number,” Kembhavi said.
Kembhavi said they have a back end system which forwarded the grievances faced by the consumers to the concerned sub-division or division, executive engineer and assistant executive engineer.
MeECL has a core team who will try to address the grievances raised by the consumer in a time-bound manner.
According to MeECL CMD, the Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/meghalayaenergy) will also relate to complaining redressal but will also act as a system of dissemination of information on the initiative taken by the MeECL.
