Meghalaya: Polio immunisation to begin on February 1 in East Garo Hills

WILLIAMNAGAR :

The first round of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) for children from 0 to 5 years in East Garo Hills will be from February 1 to 3.

According to the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO), the oral polio vaccine will be administered to children at various polio booths at Anganwadi centres, Health Facilities and market areas on the first day.

The team members comprising Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM), Anganwadi workers, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) and volunteers, will go house to house to administer oral vaccination on the second and third day, respectively.

The District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) also requested parents to cooperate with the health workers.
