Meghalaya: Police, BSF destroy illegal hemp plants in South West Garo Hills

In a joint operation by the South West Garo Hills (SWGH) police and the 28BN BSF, over 2 bighas of illegal hemp cultivation was destroyed.
The operation which took place on December 31 was started at 1:30 pm with the same concluding at 2 pm in the village of Bhoiragopi under Zikzak police station in the district.
As per reports, the 2 bighas of hemp cultivation had grown between 5-8 feet and were cut down before being burnt by the team.
