Meghalaya: PM Modi launches second phase of Jal Shakti Abhiyan

NONGSTOIN:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, launched the second phase of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) under the theme “Catch the Rain, where it falls, when it falls."

In West Khasi Hills, the District Administration observed the programme in collaboration with the Soil & Water Conservation Department at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Nongstoin.

Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) is a time-bound, mission-mode water conservation campaign for all the states and union territories.

The campaign for water conservation and water resource management will primarily focus on water-stressed areas of India.

While launching the mission, Modi called upon the citizens, government departments and local authorities to develop a civic sense of saving every drop of water and also to conserve rainwater during the monsoon season.
