In another major drug bust in South West Garo Hills (SWGH), police along with BSF security personnel nabbed a drug courier with 3499 Yaba tablets that the accused was supposed to deliver to another person in the state.
The incident took place on December 17 at the Monabari Outpost under Ampati Police Station.
A team led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police along with BSF personnel intercepted the consignment.
On interrogation, the peddlers revealed that they entered from the town of Mankachar in Assam with the consignment meant to be delivered in Garo Hills.
“We have launched an investigation into the matter and are trying to identify the others involved in the trade. The accused was arrested at the Outpost at Monabari,” said SP of SWGH, Rithuraj Ravi.
