Meghalaya: Orientation programme for District Level Functionaries on Jal Jeevan Mission held in WKH

The mission is to provide Functional House Tap Connections (FHTCs) to every household by 2023.

The State Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Meghalaya organised a one-day training cum orientation programme on Jal Jeevan Mission to District Level Functionaries of District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) for West Khasi Hills District.

“Since it was launched by the Prime Minister on August 15 2019, the aim was to ensure availability of water to every rural household in the country,” Amika. K. War Coordinator for ISAs, SPMU-JJM, PHE Department, Meghalaya said.

She also informed that the mission is to provide Functional House Tap Connections (FHTCs) to every household by 2023. The focus is on service delivery at the household level, water supply regularly in terms of quantity and quality.

The training was attended by the BDOs of Mairang, Mawthadraishan, Nongstoin and Mawshynrut Block, line departments and all the JEs.
