Meghalaya: ‘One Nation One Card’ scheme to kick-start in West Garo Hills

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Garo Hills, has informed that as per instructions of the Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Meghalaya, the Government of India will implement "One Nation One Ration Card" (ONORC).

The beneficiary can avail food grains from any part of the country and can be identified through biometric authentication.

Electronic Point of sale (ePOS) machine will be rolled out and will be distributed to all Shop Dealers under Tura Sadar Division.

Henceforth, distribution of food grains to the beneficiaries under NFSA/Non-NFSA will be conducted through the ePOS machine in future for free, fair and digital distribution of food grains under NFSA and to ensure that genuine beneficiaries are being benefitted with this system.

Therefore, to implement "One Nation One Ration Card" (ONORC), in Tura Sadar Division, Fair Price Shop Automation, Aadhaar seeding, mobile seeding of Fair Price Shop dealers and the beneficiaries of AAY, PHH and Non-NFSA cards is mandatory for ePOS authentication at the time of delivery of food grains.

All the beneficiaries under the said category are hereby directed to submit their Aadhaar cards and mobile numbers within November 20 to their Fair Price Shop Dealers for submission of the same to the Deputy Commissioners’ Office (Supply), Tura failing which allotment of food grains will be withheld with immediate effect.

Further, all Fair Price Shop Dealers are to ensure 100% collection of Aadhaar card and mobile numbers from the beneficiaries tagged with their Fair Price Shop Centre failing which renewal of their licenses for the year 2021 will not be considered as per order from the Directorate.
