NONGSTOIN: The Nongstoin Region Local Taxi Owners and Drivers Association (NRLTODA) will be joining hands with the Meghalaya Joint Action Committee of Commercial Vehicles to go on an indefinite strike in West Khasi Hills on February 3 against the increasing fuel hike in the state.

NRLTODA President Alfred Marthong said, “The increase of petrol and diesel price has not only affected commercial vehicles but it has also taken its toll on the poor ones since increasing fuel prices lead to an increase of prices in basic commodities.”

Meanwhile, the Association has urged upon everyone especially local taxis, tourist taxis, maxi cabs, pickup vans, trucks, buses, auto rickshaws and all other commercial vehicles to stop plying until the state government responds to their demand.
